On Saturday, August 16, 2008, Christian and Stephanie Nielson were in a nearly fatal, private plane accident near St. Johns, Arizona. Christian and Stephanie remained in critical condition for some time before they could be released. Christian had sustained burns on over 30% of his body and Stephanie's body was burned over 80%. Christian recovered much sooner than Stephanie. It was a miracle that either of them even survived, especially Stephanie. They are now back at home with their 4 children, but the recovery process is not over. Stephanie still has many surgeries to go and much rehabilitation to struggle through, but they are trying to put their lives back together and savor every moment. Even though there have been many donations and benefit events in honor of the Nielsons, there is still much to go in terms of paying for medical bills. They still need our help.
